20世紀四五十年代,美國語言學家Odlin提出語言遷移的定義:目標語言和其他已經習得語言之間的異同對目標語言的學習產生的影響。Odlin認為語言遷移包括母語對第二語言習得的影響和第二語言對母語的借鑒,因而語言遷移又稱為母語遷移。“正遷移”指母語與目標語的相似之處容易為學習者所掌握;“負遷移”指母語與目標語的不同之處對第二語言學習構成干擾。
目前,對高職院校非英語專業學生應用文寫作中母語負遷移研究,就其錯誤類型、錯誤原因都做出了一定的研究,但未討論學生寫作中的格式錯誤;且有的研究缺乏實例支撐。若要解決母語負遷移中所出現的錯誤,應多從語言輸入的角度著手,但忽略了語言輸出中學習者“自我過濾”的作用,本文擬在這幾個方面進一步探討。
一、學生作業中的錯誤量化分析
本研究通過對非英語專業(北京衛生職業學院護理專業三年制高職一年級學生)38名一年級學生的兩次英語應用文寫作進行批改,并依據英語語法、語篇和文體格式規則對學生作業中的錯誤進行分析,結果如下:

二、學生作業中的錯誤質性分析
1.詞匯錯誤
(1)動詞錯誤。中英文詞匯在表達動作的時態、語態上,方式截然不同:①英語動詞通過詞尾的變化來體現時態的變化;②英語動詞的被動語態通過“be動詞+過去分詞”來表達。而中文動詞則不通過動詞自身變化來表達時態和語態。因兩種語言下動詞使用的巨大差異使學生的語言輸出受母語負遷移影響,動詞錯誤在總量中占比最高。
時態錯誤:Three employees who join our department last week also need computers.(應為:joined)
語態錯誤:Because all the computers and printers has used for five years.(應為have been used)
(2)代詞錯誤。英語中的代詞有八類代詞。而中文只有人稱、疑問和指示三種代詞,且中英文代詞在性、數、格上都有不同。代詞的這些差異可能導致學生犯錯,學生的作業也證實了這一點:
物主代詞錯誤:Thank you for you help.(you應該是your)
關系代詞錯誤:They usually have some problems, (缺which)very influences our work.
不定代詞和代詞單復數的錯誤:And there are always some wrong with its, which influences our work.(some應該改為something;its應該改為them)
(3)名詞和形容詞錯誤。此類錯誤多由學生在單詞拼寫、詞義理解錯誤等產生,不屬于母語負遷移的范疇。
(4)冠詞錯誤。英文中的不定冠詞和定冠詞與中文的“每一、這、一個”等含義并非完全等值,所以是學生常犯的錯誤。例:冠詞錯誤:You can inform me if you have idea.(應該為:an idea)
2.句法錯誤
中文注重意合而英文講究形合,“形合(hypotaxis)和意合(Parataxis)是語言表現法。形合是指借助語言形式手段實現詞語或句子的連接;意合是指不借助語言形式手段而借助詞語或句子所含意義的邏輯聯系來實現它們之間的連接”。因為中文行文的自由性,使得學生習慣用自由的中文思維來表達英文,這違反英文作為有邏輯的顯性形式標記語言的要求,產生錯誤:
(1)句子結構混亂。be動詞和實義動詞常常放在一個句子中。中文中“是”和實義動詞可連用,英文中不可以。如 “Be+實義動詞”錯誤:They are run so slowly that they influence our work.(應去掉are)
(2)主謂不一致。中文中的謂語不隨主語的單復數發生詞形變化,而英文不是。
謂語與主語數的不一致:They always has troubles and this influence our work all the time.(has應換成have;influence應換成influences)
(3)句子成分詞性錯誤。值得注意的是英文中有一部分詞匯詞義相同但卻分屬不同詞類,如正式:formality―名詞,formal―形容詞,formalize―動詞,從構詞法上而言它們是派生法構成。中文因派生構成的詞匯遠遠低于英語,因此,學生容易分不清同一個詞義下的動詞、名詞、形容詞和副詞形態之間的區別。
動詞與名詞形式錯誤:Cooperate with you is our pleasure.(Cooperate是動詞形式,不能做英文句子主語,應是名詞形式:Cooperation)
(4)句子不完整。句子成分缺省錯誤:It costs the company to. (應改為:It costs the company $100 to buy them.中文句子松散,常出現片段式語言,這在英文中是不符合語法的。)
因句法錯誤常和詞匯錯誤互相重合,因而沒有單獨在表格中列出。但從上述分析可知,正是中英文在句法的差異,造成母語負遷移,才會產生以上句法錯誤。
3.語篇錯誤
英語是以形合為主的語言,而漢語則以意合為主的語言,因此在語篇銜接手段上截然不同。當用中文的銜接手段去完成上下文的銜接時,就會出現語言負遷移的現象。
指代錯誤:The existing computer and printer have been used for more than five years. It always breaks down and that affect our work.(不應該用單數it指代前面的復數computer and printer)
關聯詞錯誤:It influences our work. Therefore,we have three new employees who also need computer.(therefore表因果,而本句應該是表遞進)
4.文體格式錯誤
英語應用文寫作大都涉及書信格式,如求職信、推薦信、感謝信等。中英文書信格式有所區別:(1)中文信稱呼后用冒號,而英文信稱呼后用逗號;(2)英文的落款一般是信尾客套語+逗號(可居左也可居右);而中文一般將結尾的祝語居左且無逗號,署名居右。學生的格式錯誤多體現在以下方面:(1)英文稱呼后加冒號;(2)英文信尾客套語書寫錯誤。由此可知:學生(1)和(2)的錯誤正是受到母語負遷移影響。在書信格式這個方面,母語負遷移對學生的影響非常深刻,在實踐中,教師多次“正強化”后才將錯誤率降低。
5.語言交際錯誤
除了語法錯誤,學生在使用語言過程中,也會違反英語語言交際的禮貌原則,如:I’m Sam wang, I require to buy some computers and printers. (作為員工寫給經理的信件,不應該使用require這樣帶命令口氣的詞語)
三、應對策略
1.加強對基礎知識的教學
學生的主要錯誤體現在詞匯和句法方面,這凸顯了學生在學習過程中對語法詞匯的基礎知識掌握得不牢固。因此需要通過擴充詞匯、多做練習來夯實基礎知識。
2.不斷正強化“英漢差異”
在教學過程中,除了需要讓學生學習到英文表達,也需要強調“英漢差異”。以英文應用文體的書信格式為例,只有通過幾次作業的對比后才能讓學生意識到自己的錯誤和“英漢差異”,并按英文的格式和語法要求書寫。
3.培養學生的“自查”“自我糾錯”機制
高職學生已具備一定的判斷和自我反思能力,因而比低年級學生更具備“自我語言過濾”的能力。在英文寫作練習過程中,讓學生進行自我糾錯、互相糾錯的練習,在下一次寫作過程中,它們就會不斷運用該機制,對自己的語言進行語法過濾和修改,從而提高語言水平。
4.加強對語篇和語言交際原則知識的講解
針對高職非英語專業學生,應在教學中適當加入語篇和語言交際原則的知識,增強其寫作中的社會交際意識,使寫作能達到交際目的。
英語寫作是英語學習者語言綜合能力和思維方式的集中體現,是高職非英語專業學生英語學習中的難點。因而受多種因素特別是母語負遷移的影響,學生在應用文寫作中錯誤頻出,教師需要通過針對性的教學策略,才能有效減少母語負遷移的影響,從而提高學生的應用文寫作技巧和水平。

而冬天,則是送報的苦日子。丹麥的冬天除了下雪外,暖氣流來臨時,還會經常下雨。如果碰上雨天,那種凄風苦雨的感覺,讓人很難受,而且還得特別小心,別把報紙弄濕了。即使沒有雨雪的日子里,一個晚上,樓上樓下地爬上爬下幾十趟,衣服也濕透了。
當然,送報苦中也有甜。曾有一個中國留學生給世界最大的船運公司馬士基的大老板家里送過報。有天清早,當他照例去這位富翁家送報時,正好遇上他,老先生極有禮貌地向他點頭致意。還有一位同學給丹麥女王家送過報紙,有的時候,可以遇到女王的管家和其他工作人員。他們和藹可親的笑臉,讓這些送報的同學十分感動。還有許多同學,用送報掙來的錢,游歷了歐洲數國。
善良體貼的訂報人
一個周末的晚上,我送報的一個客戶家正在開舞會,一群俊男美女熱熱鬧鬧地在院子里聚會。當我把報紙塞到報箱里準備離開時,一位漂亮的小姐走了過來??吹轿覞M頭大汗的樣子,她請我坐下來休息一會,并邀請我加入到他們的行列中。我謝了她的好意,說時間不夠,送報要緊。沒想到,她轉身拿了一瓶可口可樂,硬塞給了我。
第二個周末,我再次送報到她家時,把一張中國剪紙和一封寫好的感謝信放到了她家報箱里。下一個周末,當我再次送報到她家時,看到了報箱上有一瓶可口可樂。我猜出了主人的好意,小心地把報紙塞入報箱,又把可口可樂放回了原處。第四個周末,在她家報箱上,我看到了一封信,一個蘋果壓在這封信上。信封上寫著:送報人董先生收。這次,我接受了這家人的好意。
從那以后,每當我送報到這戶人家時,都可以見到報箱上有瓶可口可樂或是水果。
為送報人舉辦的慶祝會
為了感謝送報人的辛勤勞動,送報公司每年都要舉行一次慶祝會。在我的送報經歷中,我參加過兩次這樣的年度慶祝會。
第一次是在鮮花盛開的7月,在哥本哈根郊外公園一個豪華餐廳里,送報公司老板皮埃爾說道:“我們的送報公司,可能是世界上最好的送報公司!”我環顧了一下餐廳,可不是,90%以上的送報人都是中國人,其中絕大部分都是在這里攻讀博士、碩士學位的人。
第二次參加年度慶祝會時,老板深情地說:“感謝你們大家,特別感謝來自中國的留學生,是你們使我們的公司生存了下來!”等老板講完話,我走向老板,充滿感激地對他說:“是您和您的公司在我們最困難的時候,給我們提供了一個工作機會,使我們能夠在丹麥這個美麗的國家生存下來,完成學業。我很感謝您和您的公司!”
吃著洋廚師制作的精美西餐,聽著樂隊演奏的悠揚的樂曲,我們感覺很不一般,似乎我們所從事的這份工作,是一件多么偉大的工作!
當前,大學英語教學及其后繼教學的進展如何著實收到大學英語教學方法的影響。
古人云:“教以多術矣,運用在乎人?!苯虒W方法的選擇與應用,既要掌握“教必有法”的原則性,又要領會“教無定法”的靈活性,力求原則性與靈活性有機的結合。傳統的英語教學法多為單一的講授法。但外語教學具有其特性,即語言的交際性,沒有交流,語言學習就會變得枯燥無味,也就失去了學習語言的真正目的。因此,為了培養學生的語言交際能力,獲得良好的教學效果,教師應根據教學內容和學生的需求,要適時地采用不同的教學方法。如:
1.采用啟發式教學法
啟發式教學方法是在英語學習中提高大學生注意力,調動學習積極性,激勵大學生充分利用所學材料解決問題,發揮已具有的語言能力,積極參加言語活動的有效方式。如,學生們圍繞某一話題,陳述各自的見解,進行相互交流,相互學習。形式可分為全班式、多人一組式、兩人一組式,也可分為兩組辨論式,即針對某一話題分兩組展開討論。這兩種方法適用于上新課前的“課堂準備活動階段”,用來激發學生對所學內容產生興趣,并幫助他們聯想與課文有關的背景知識,從而有助于他們對課文的理解。也可用于教學過程中的“后繼活動階段”,有利于學生對所學內容及時作出反饋,加深理解。這種方法不但培養了學生獨立思考問題、解決問題的能力,也在不知不覺中鍛煉提高了他們的語言表達能力。
2.實行小班授課,增加口語練習
中國大學生普遍存在著口語水平低的現象,主要是因為不具備語言環境,大學生能夠練習口語的唯一機會是課堂,而傳統的教學方式又忽視口語訓練,這樣就造成了大學生只會讀、不會說的情況。為了克服以往翻譯語法教學法造成的“啞吧英語”的狀況,改變“重知識、輕能力”的傾向,應在授課的內容和側重點上也作一些調整。針對大學生英語水平和口語能力普遍低的問題,采用聽說小班授課,使大學生有更多的時間練習聽說。內容上做到豐富、逼真、有趣、力求采用豐富多彩的教學內容,在完成規定的教學內容之余,組織大學生欣賞現代詩歌、名人演講、電影對白、英文歌曲,英文講座等。目前大學英語教學大綱明確規定培養大學生具有較強的閱讀能力,這也是培養大學生語言運用能力的重點和關鍵。
3.逐步引入過程寫作教學法
英語寫作也是大學生較薄弱的環節之一。因此改革大學英語教學,強化英語教學中的寫作訓練已經是勢在必行。因受課時、班級規模等客觀條件的限制,目前的大學英語寫作仍以成品教學法為主,即教師耗費大量的時間和精力批改作文,而批改的重點往往是在語言形式上而不是在語言內容上,對篇章結構的分析、反饋不足;而大學生只關心分數,對教師的評語和修改部分不太認真閱讀,結果同樣的錯誤在以后的作文中仍然出現。針對這種弊端,應引入過程寫作教學法:首先,英語的寫作內容多種多樣,在課堂上,教師找一些簡短的形式供大學生練習,如通知、便條、報告、邀請函、感謝信等,這樣大學生可以在短暫的時間里練習動手能力。同時,也可讓學生課后背誦范文,進行模仿寫作。
4.強化文化因素的導入
