教師力量的全部秘密，就在于深信人是可以改變的。

英語作業(yè)是整個英語教學工作中不可或缺的重要組成部分，起著監(jiān)控、鞏固與反饋的作用，是檢查教師與學生之間教與學的紐帶。時下，廣大初中英語教師普遍注重對課堂教學設計的研究，力求促進課堂效率的提高，但作業(yè)問題并沒有引起足夠重視。由于長期受應試教育的影響，英語作業(yè)逐漸淪為機械重復、死記硬背的代名詞，存在諸多弊端，如作業(yè)內(nèi)容僅限于英語學科知識范圍，遠離學生實際生活；作業(yè)形式單一，主要是抄寫、背誦、聽寫等。低效的作業(yè)成了教師強加給學生的負擔，扼殺學生的興趣，阻礙學生個性和潛能的發(fā)展。
英語作業(yè)應當是一種媒介，由此激發(fā)學生進行多方面的感官體驗，在愉悅合理的情境中獲取知識和培養(yǎng)能力。優(yōu)化初中英語作業(yè)的類型設計不僅能改善學生的學習態(tài)度和習慣，也使得教師的教學負擔和工作壓力在無形中得到緩解。因此，教師在設計英語作業(yè)時要明確作業(yè)目的，豐富作業(yè)形式和內(nèi)容，讓不同層次的學生都能發(fā)揮自己的優(yōu)勢，獲得探究與創(chuàng)新以及知識運用的機會。筆者結(jié)合多年的教學實踐，設計出了四種不同類型的初中英語作業(yè)：基礎操作型、技能訓練型、實踐應用型和自主創(chuàng)編型。
①基礎操作型：此類英語作業(yè)屬于常規(guī)作業(yè)，是課堂教學的延伸和補充，旨在鞏固所學知識，落實語言基礎，常見的形式有抄寫、背誦、句子翻譯等。但在設計實踐中，應該要突顯層級性，尊重個體差異。層級性是指每項作業(yè)練習之間要有知識的難易差別或解決問題所需的技能級別高低的變化。這種層級差別易于讓學生根據(jù)自己的學習能力自由地選擇，從而使每個學生通過不同難度和量的作業(yè)練習在原有的基礎上各有收獲，都能享受到成功的喜悅。因此，教師可以采取套餐式作業(yè)（作業(yè)分層）的策略。
②技能訓練型：培養(yǎng)學生的英語聽、說、讀、寫能力，是英語學科教學需要實現(xiàn)的根本性目標。四種技能在語言學習和交際中應相輔相成、相互促進。初中英語作業(yè)往往偏重于讀寫訓練，而忽略聽說練習。因此，在作業(yè)設計中要綜合考慮、統(tǒng)籌安排，讓學生在技能訓練中，進一步發(fā)展這四項基本能力。
聽說作業(yè)：聽，除了聽教材配套的錄音磁帶之外，還可要求學生選擇性地聽難度相當?shù)挠⒄Z材料。讀，模仿錄音磁帶的語音語調(diào)有表情地跟讀，或者與錄音同步朗讀。看，觀賞英語原版動畫片、英語電視節(jié)目等。說，復述課文、命題說話、歌曲演唱、短劇表演等，還可以在每節(jié)課前設置一個Free talk（自由會話），讓學生隨意表現(xiàn)，比如講英語小故事、英語笑話、英語諺語等。另外，教師可設計一些與課文內(nèi)容密切相關(guān)的討論話題，讓學生在課外準備，上課時共同討論。
讀寫作業(yè)：目前課外英語學習的資源非常豐富，英文報刊、雜志、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)等都為學生提供了大量閱讀的機會，教師要充分利用英語作業(yè)這片天地，積極開展課外閱讀，引導學生感悟優(yōu)秀的英語文學作品，領略英語語言的魅力，擴展知識儲備。至于寫作也應形式多樣化，初中生已經(jīng)積累了一定的詞匯和句型，有能力寫一些小短文，教師可以時常根據(jù)實際情況布置一些寫作類作業(yè)。比如國慶節(jié)要來了，寫一寫國慶節(jié)的計劃、安排；學校開運動會了，用日記的形式記錄一下。
③實踐應用型：語言教學所謀求的目標不再是機械的語言訓練，而是實際的語言運用能力的培養(yǎng)。因此，教師應把注意力放在為學生提供各種語言實踐機會，在社會生活的大環(huán)境中培養(yǎng)學生的語言能力，而實踐應用型作業(yè)能成為連接課堂與社會生活的橋梁。教師要充分利用現(xiàn)實生活中的英語教育資源，開展豐富多彩的英語實踐活動，使學生在廣闊的空間里學以致用，逐步掌握語言規(guī)律，提高語言運用能力。此類作業(yè)可以分為以下幾種類型。
收集：在信息發(fā)達的今天，學生學習英語的途徑越來越多，生活中到處都可以看到英語的蹤影，這為收集性作業(yè)創(chuàng)造了條件。教師要多多鼓勵學生留心收集身邊的英語，用生活中的英語來豐富自己的知識。
采訪：初中英語教材中可設計成進行采訪的作業(yè)很多，由于這類作業(yè)來源于生活，又用之于生活，學生能用課堂知識進行課外真實交際，不僅調(diào)動了學生學習英語的興趣，同時溝通了同學之間的感情，提高了學生人際交往的能力。
調(diào)查：調(diào)查是任務型教學的常用有效的方法，較有利于理論與實際的統(tǒng)一。一方面可鼓勵學生充分發(fā)揮語言的交際功能，獲取所需的信息；另一方面也可以培養(yǎng)學生對已獲取的信息進行分析、歸納總結(jié)、得出結(jié)論或表達自己看法的能力。
制作：制作類作業(yè)可以讓學生享受Do it in English的樂趣。比如：教師節(jié)的時候要求學生做一張賀卡，寫一兩句英文祝福語；萬圣節(jié)的時候發(fā)動學生做一個南瓜燈籠來體驗節(jié)日氣氛，并用英語說出制作過程；學完幾個單元，讓學生動手做一份英語手抄報，把所學知識變成英文躍然紙上。這些帶有濃厚人文色彩的作業(yè)容易受到學生的青睞，同時多種感官參與并用的學習效率較高。
④自主創(chuàng)編型：新課程理念強調(diào)有效的語言學習應該是經(jīng)歷性的，而不是傳授性的。自主創(chuàng)編型作業(yè)就是引導學生根據(jù)已有的知識體驗，適當?shù)貙ξ谋具M行剖析、對情景進行想象，通過改、說、唱、演等形式再現(xiàn)、拓展、深化課文內(nèi)容。如續(xù)寫課文可以培養(yǎng)學生豐富的想象力和形象思維，擴寫或縮寫課文不僅能深化理解原文，而且能訓練學生的發(fā)散和聚斂思維。這些作業(yè)，既體現(xiàn)了英語學科的綜合性，又充分鍛煉了學生的設計、分析、思考能力，有利于激活思維，激發(fā)創(chuàng)造力，引導學生把豐富的學習資源內(nèi)化為自身財富，為學生個性發(fā)展搭建平臺。
在素質(zhì)教育和新課程改革的理念不斷深化之際，我們不僅要抓住學生的課堂，也要關(guān)注他們課后對知識的鞏固和個人能力的發(fā)展。筆者認為，初中英語作業(yè)優(yōu)化設計的研究是一項積極有益的探索工作，正因為如此，教師應確立全新的作業(yè)觀，設計作業(yè)時多從學生的需求、興趣、能力和經(jīng)驗出發(fā)，促進學生的整體發(fā)展，培養(yǎng)學生的綜合實踐能力，只有這樣，英語作業(yè)才能得到實質(zhì)性的優(yōu)化。
